3 wheelin' (sidecar racing)

There is another type of motorcycle racing out there, folks.  Sidecar racing.  I have seen this on TV a few times and it's pretty intense as there is a rider and a passenger involved.  Usually, the passenger, riding in the sidecar has to hold on for dear life as these high tech 3 wheelers make their way around the racecourse, powered by large displacement conventional motorcycle racing engines.  They are extraordinary to watch and the Federation International de Motorcyclisme (FIM), does have a championship dedicated to them.  It's the Sidecar World Championship and used to be known as Superside.

Here's a link to a Wikipedia page explaining what sidecar racing is all about, and there are videos on the internet that highlight it, too.  It's scary to watch sometimes, because the rider in the sidecar really has to be careful so he doesn't slide out of it being left behind by the driver.  But, it's very, very cool, still.
