In Moto 2 action at Philip Island, it was another win for Pol Espargaro, which might very well keep him in contention for the championship with only two races remaining in the season. Tom Luthi and Jordi Torres completed the podium.
Among the retirements from the race were Louis Rossi, Xavier Simeon, Johann Zarco, and Julian Simon. Simone Corsi, Alex de Angelis, Tito Rabat, Nico Terol, Mika Kallio, and others, had respectable finishes.

In Moto 3 action at Philip Island, Alex Rins won, followed home by fellow Spaniards Maverick Vinales and Luis Salom, which is a picture we've seen throughout the season. Hometown hero, Aussie Jack Miller, came in fifth overall. Jonas Folger, Efren Vazquez, Niccolo Antonelli, Niklas Ajo, and Alexis Masbou, rounded out the top ten. 30 bikes were classified in Moto 3. The two non-finishers were Hyuga Watanabe of Japan, and Italian Francesco Bagnaia. Philip Oettl of Germany, did not start.
