Round one of the 2014 FIM World Superbike season was run at Philip Island in Victoria, Australia, last weekend. Eugene Laverty of Ireland won race one on his Suzuki, while in race two, Sylvain Guintoli from France, on his Aprilia. Laverty gives Suzuki it's first win in FIM World Superbike in four years. In the FIM World Supersport race, which was the other race on the bill... victory went to Turkey's Kenan Sofuogulu. So, here are the winners:

World Superbike race 2: #50 Sylvain Guintoli FRA. Aprilia Racing Team Aprilia RSV4 Factory
World Supersport race: #54 Kenan Sofuoglu TUR. MAHI Racing Team India Kawasaki ZX6R
The Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600 riders do not start their season until a bit later in the year. There will be over a month's break before round two of the championship, which is slated to happen the second week of April at Motorland Aragon, in Aragon, Spain.
