World championship motorcycle racing in Argentina dates back to 1961, however, there was a hiatus between 1964 and 1980, with a return in 1981/'82. Then, after a four year layoff, racing came back in 1987, and also in the mid 1990s in 1994 and '95. Here's the whole history.
