Watched both of these races on TV and they were wild. In the Moto 2 race at Silverstone. In Moto 2, it was Johann Zarco, taking another victory, and he pads his championship points lead.
#5 Johann Zarco FRA. Kalex
Rounding out the podium were Alex Rins and Tito Rabat. Alex Marquez and Jonas Folger completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Sam Lowes, Anthony West, Sandro Cortese, Tom Luthi, and Ricard Cardus. 27 of 31 riders were classified at the finish. Thitipong Warokorn, both Forward Racing bikes of Lorenzo Baldassari and Simone Corsi, and British wildcard rider, Bradley Ray, were non finishers.
Moto 3 saw Danny Kent become the first British winner in the lightweight junior class in his home Grand Prix. Kent is on his way, to the 2015 Moto 3 World Championship, sooner than we might think.
#52 Danny Kent GBR. Honda
Jakub Kornfeil and Karel Hanika rounded out the podium. Jorge Martin and Brad Binder, completed the top five in Moto 3. Niccolo Antonelli, Jorge Navarro, Isaac Vinales, Miguel Oliveira, and Andrea Locatelli, completed the top ten. Up next for Moto 2 and Moto 3, along with their MotoGP brethren, is the San Marino e della Riviera Rimini Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Misano, Italy, in two weeks.
This blog is dedicated to reporting on motorcycle racing, a recently acquired interest to someone who has followed races on four wheels for nearly two decades. Just a way to add some variety to my motorsports fascination. Covered here will be numerous races from the American and European championships for motorcycles. The American Motorcyclist Association, and the FIM (Federation International de Motorcyclisme).

MotoGP Round 12: Great Britain
The championship looks to be an inter-team showdown. Jorge Lorenzo vs. Valentino Rossi. The two Yamaha team mates, are the top contenders. We are ready, to race the British Grand Prix. We have a wet track, and a windy day today. Stay in the lead. This is the longest track on the calendar. Predict the weather, too. Keep your eye on the prize. Seven races left. Every point will count. Take risks, but be consistent. We are ready, for a start. Can Bradley Smith get his first podium of the season in his home race?
We'll find out. Who will lead the MotoGP World Championship after this 20 lap contest? Valentino Rossi could be the favorite. Look at the spray down the Wellington straight, into Brooklands. It's raining. It's a proper English, rainy Sunday afternoon. Marc Marquez wants his second straight win at Silverstone. The two Yamaha's are equal on points. We're ready to race. 20 laps, now. Go! Jorge Lorenzo gets the hole shot. Pol Espargaro is going for it. Jack Miller falls. Dani Pedrosa is down to fifth.
Marquez wants to get by Lorenzo, and Pol Espargaro is going for it, on Marquez. Bradley Smith is up to fifth past Bradley Smith. Pol Espargaro is up to second. Dani Pedrosa battles Bradley Smith into Club corner, and down the International Straight, through Abbey. Marquez gets passed by Valentino Rossi. Rossi nails Espargaro. Rossi is up to second. We remember the Moto 2 battles between Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez. Jorge Lorenzo leads right now. Jack Miller has carved his way from 16th to the top eight, and he's passing his team mate, Cal Crutchlow, at LCR Honda. Lorenzo still leads.
Into Copse, Rossi gets by Marquez, and he's closing on Jorge Lorenzo through Maggots/Becketts. This could be the first head to head battle between the Yamah's all year. Rossi tries for the lead into Stowe. No dice. Rossi wants to lead. Jack Miller is seventh on his Open class Honda. They fly through Club. We had to wait for the start. It was worth waiting for. This is a hell of a race, chaps. The crowd is going nuts!
They run through Village. Marc Marquez passes Jorge Lorenzo into Aintree. Formula One fans at Silverstone, eat your heart out. This is MotoGP, in the rain! We have a faller! Jack Miller, up inside Cal Crutchlow, and Crutchlow crashes after being in third, going into Vail! Game over for both! Rossi leads over Marquez, and Lorenzo. What a disaster for LCR Honda! Marquez has Rossi in his cross hairs. Cal Crutchlow won't be on the podium. We work lap three. The conditions seem to be getting worse.
It's not getting any heavier in terms of rainfall. But the track is constantly wet. Miller had the front end wash away, and Cal Crutchlow had no place to go. You never want to take out your team mate. That's a sin in racing. Jorge Lorenzo is under pressure from Pol Espargaro. Crutchlow does come back into the race, on his spare motorcycle. Jorge Lorenzo is struggling. Pol Espargaro runs off the road. Aleix Espargaro is also up there. Valentino Rossi holds off Marc Marquez. Oh dear. Cal Crutchlow has gone down on his spare bike!
Valentino Rossi continues to lead this race. Danilo Petrucci has come from 18th to fifth! Andrea Dovizioso is also behind. Through Stowe into Vale, there are still things happening. Nothing to split between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi. Both run in the 2:17.8. Danilo Petrucci passes Dani Pedrosa for fourth! They fight the puddles, coming to Abbey curve.
Dani Pedrosa is under attack from Andrea Dovizioso. Dovizioso passes Pedrosa. Will he pass Danilo Petrucci? Petrucci is on the year old Ducati GP14. But, it's a great motorcycle, just as the new GP15 is. There's nothing between the top two. 2:17.4 this time for Lorenzo. Danilo Petrucci tries Lorenzo and can't quite make it. Danilo Petrucci, used to be a policeman. Petrucci is still going for it, but Jorge Lorenzo holds him at bay. Danilo Petrucci wants his first podium. Bradley Smith is also moving up. They race through the Farm curve, into Village, and into The Loop.
Petrucci is up to third! Jorge Lorenzo's race is going pear shaped! Andrea Dovizioso is up to fourth. There is a monumental swing going in this championship. Valentino Rossi has had one podium at Silverstone, last year. He's not won since Assen in Holland, in late June. It's been two months. Rossi runs best race lap at 2:17.026. Jorge Lorenzo has fallen down to sixth place! He is in the middle of a nightmare, and his team mate, Valentino Rossi, might cream him in terms of World Championship points today!
Eleven laps to go yet. Pol Espargaro passes Bradley Smith. Rossi is extending his championship lead. Jorge Lorenzo remains sixth, struggling, in the wet. We are ten laps in. Halfway home. Danilo Petrucci is still third. Andrea Dovizioso remains fourth. Will Marc Marquez make a move on Valentino Rossi. They race down Hangar straight and into Stowe corner. Will there be argy bargy between Rossi and Marquez like the Dutch TT in June? Danilo Petrucci is a half second clear of Andrea Dovizioso, in a lonely third spot.
Where will Marquez make his move? Nine laps remain. They are still lapping in the 2:18s, the lead duo. Some riders down the order run as quick as 2:16. Andrea Dovizioso wants by Danilo Petrucci. It's Ducati GP15 vs. Ducati GP14. Stefan Bradl, Nicky Hayden, and Maverick Vinales on the Suzuki, complete the points paying spots. Dovizioso passes Petrucci. Dovizioso takes third spot away. He's 5.9 seconds behind Marc Marquez. We complete lap 12. Eight remain. Marc Marquez has crashed out of the British Grand Prix! Game over! This is a gift for Rossi. Marquez cannot possibly win a third straight championship. He's crashed at Copse.
He lost the rear of the bike into Copse corner. Valentino Rossi is now six and a half seconds clear of Andrea Dovizioso. Rossi could win the British Grand Prix, and seize the advantage in the world championship. Valentino Rossi continues to lead. We watch Petrucci and Dovizioso battle for second. Jorge Lorenzo is also in this fight. He's fourth. Valentino Rossi has backed off slightly. The gap is down to 3.8 seconds. Game over for Stefan Bradl and Aprilia. Bradl crashes. We're going to keep an eye on the Ducati's sector times. Andrea Dovizioso vs. Danilo Petrucci.
Valentino Rossi still leads. You haven't missed anything in the lead. Petrucci tries Dovizioso and makes it stick through Village and into The Loop. Wow. Petrucci is back into second place. Good on the policeman! Dovizioso runs wide, and Petrucci regains second spot! Holy cow! Rossi leads Petrucci by 3.1 seconds. Is it a big enough gap? Rossi has ridden a brilliant race. He wants his fourth win of 2015. Keep looking at the sector times. Will the Ducati's give the Yamaha a headache?
The rain is pouring at Stowe right now. Ooh! Pol Espargaro crashes the Tech 3 Yamaha. Game over. His team mate, Bradley Smith, continues. Danilo Petrucci is set on catching Valentino Rossi. Can he do it? The gap is pretty tight. The rain is appalling. They fly into Stowe corner again. This is likely Danilo Petrucci's best ride in years! Can he pull of an upset? Petrucci is trying to take the fight to Rossi. 2.375 seconds gap. We have just two laps to go. They fly through Aintree and onto the Wellington straight.
Into Brooklands, Petrucci and Dovizioso go for it. There are just four laps to go. Danilo Petrucci is eating away time out of Rossi's gap. Could Petrucci win? Rossi is booking it. Petrucci has nothing to lose and everything to gain. They run into Stowe corner. All these riders are on the soft wet tires. Three and a half laps left into Vale. Through Club, it's Rossi vs. Petrucci, vs. Dovizioso. The gap is just over a second. Has Rossi managed his tires better than the Ducati's? Three laps left now. Rossi has found a couple of tenths.
Jorge Lorenzo has broken the resolve of Dani Pedrosa. Scott Redding is going to finish sixth. Three laps to go now. He has a lead of 1.6 seconds over Petrucci and Dovizioso. Scott Redding is running very well. He'll leave Marc VDS at the end of the year, and move to Pramac Ducati, for next year. Just two laps left now. Bradley Smith is holding off Andrea Ianonne. These two battled in 125cc and Moto 2 competition. Rossi is two laps away from winning. His dad, Graziano Rossi was leading a 250cc race in 1979 at Silverstone. Papa, crashed with two laps left. Will son, win this?
Game over for Karel Abraham. He's crashed. This race is Rossi's to lose. He will be on the final lap, on the way to his fourth win of 2015. Crucial points are at stake. It's the final lap. This is one of the classics of World Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Rossi wants his 10th World Championship. Andrea Dovizioso is putting space between himself, and Jorge Lorenzo. It's the last lap. Lorenzo is not having any luck passing Dovizioso.
Rossi will win this race. Andrea Dovizioso will finish third. Valentino Rossi will see a very important win here. Rossi will have a 12 point edge on Lorenzo. Through Village. Seven corners left. Danilo Petrucci will get second. Valentino Rossi heads to Brooklands, and he's going to win. "The Doctor" does it! He wins at Silverstone!

F.Y.I.
Folks... yours truly, has a conflict with the races this Sunday. There is the MotoGP event in England, but... there is also a race for the four wheeled brigade, at the same time. It's the FIA World Endurance Championship sports cars, from the Nurburgring, in Germany, this Sunday morning. So, the update on the Hertz British motorcycle Grand Prix, will have to be a short one, published, later on in the day.
If you so desire, switch over to my sports car racing blog: Endurance... The Sports Car Racing Blog, and check it out. But, not to worry, fans of the 2 wheelers. There will still be a post about the race here, on Sunday, but in shortened format.

MotoGP Round 11: Czech Republic
Since 1965, motorcycles have been racing in the Czech Republic. They began on public roads. Brno has been a fixture in the modern world championship, since 1987. Marc Marquez cannot make any mistakes. If he makes an error, he'll lose the championship. In 2010, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi fought for the title. Lorenzo, won it. Last year, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo won two races each, and Rossi went on to the title. If Marquez won every remaining event this year, Rossi would have to win five races, and be on three podiums. Lorenzo would have to have seven wins. The championship is at it's best. Rossi wants his 10th title. Lorenzo is going for it. Marquez, wants three titles in a row.
Dani Pedrosa, won this race, last year. 22 laps scheduled for this race. On Friday, the track was really hot, and the grip levels were a real concern. Andrea Ianonne and Andrea Dovizioso will have updated versions of their Ducati motorcycles. Brno is very quick. Sports cars used to race on the old eight mile public road circuit, especially,five-time Le Mans winner, Derek Bell. It used to be called Masaryk Circuit. It is 3.357 miles, with 15 corners.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masaryk_Circuit
The last races on the public roads, took place in 1986. Braking will be over washboard style bumps. We are also a few hours away from great capital cities like Prague and Vienna. The track was modified in 1996. It has fourteen turns, with seven, short turns. Jorge Lorenzo was the last non Honda rider. It's a long home straight. Braking into turn one is really long. Come across into the second turn, the kink. Down a straight, and then, into three at 300 kilometers an hour on MotoGP bike. Turn four changes direction. After the highest point, go downhill.
You are in fifth gear in turn five, as you go down through turns five, six, and seven. We're into eight, a left/right, in the stadium section. Through nine, onto another straight that flies downhill. Into Kevin Schwantz corner in turn ten, named after Kevin Schwantz when he crashed in 1990. Through turn 11, it's all about horsepower, through turn twelve, and we brake into turn thirteen. Don't cut your momentum. It's a short race to the finish line. It's highly recommended.
It's great to race on any motorcycle. Now, in qualifying, Jorge Lorenzo will start from pole, as he set a new track record, dipping into the 1:54s. Marc Marquez got within seven hundredths of a second. Valentino Rossi qualified well for the first time since Assen. Dani Pedrosa did well, despite a major high side on Friday. Lorenzo is the first man to run in the 1:54 bracket, at Brno. Some riders will be riding hurt. Dani Pedrosa has a bruised leg, and Cal Crutchlow has a strained shoulder.
Storylines. Nail the setup. Avoid the bumps. Keep your speed up. If you fall behind, you can't recover, according to Valentino Rossi. Can Marc Marquez win his third straight MotoGP race? Or, will Yamaha, steal his thunder? Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium in every race this year. Jorge Lorenzo is only nine points behind Rossi. Can these boys keep Marc Marquez at bay? We'll find out, now.
It's the Automotodrom Brno. It's time to go racing. 22 laps of the 3.357 mile track, up, next! 1:54.989 was Jorge Lorenzo's record lap time yesterday. Let's enjoy this race. If Jorge Lorenzo wins and Valentino Rossi is third, they'll be equal on points. Here we go. It's time to race. Go! At ths start, Jorge Lorenzo gets the launch. Bradley Smith flies, too. Marc Marquez is second, with Smith third. Marcquez wants to make a move and Andrea Dovizioso tries to pass Smith. Valentino Rossi got swamped.
Lorenzo and Marquez are running away from the fiueld, and these two will be all over each other. Rossi passes Smith for fourth. He has to pass Andrea Dovizioso, and soon. They dive into turn ten, the lowest part of the track. Rossi is all over the rear wheel of the Ducati. Into turn thirteen, he can't make a move. We finish lap one. Rossi has lost 1.5 seconds. He has to book it, now! Rossi tries to move, and he does. He knows he's got to go now. Dovizioso fights back, but isn't close enough. Rossi's race, is starting to go pear shaped.
He has to get by, but has no way through. Lorenzo and Marquez are getting away. Andrea Ianonne wants to pounce on Rossi, too. He's surrounded from all sides. Can Rossi make the move? He does not have the pace. Here he is into turn fourteen. He gets a spot, but then, Andra Dovizioso tries to get back by. Rossi is into third. But Rossi and Lorenzo are getting away. Fast lap for Lorenzo at 1:56.243. Rossi is 1.1 seconds slower. He did make the move on Dovizioso stick.
Lorenzo is running a real fast pace. Can Marquez stay with him like Indianapolis last weekend? Lots of other riders have had a good start, further down the top ten. Watch the gap between Marquez and Rossi. The gap is not closing. Marc Marquez resets fast lap at 1:56.150. Rossi waits for the hard rear Bridgestone tire to settle in. Bradley Smith is sixth and is the top non-factory rider. Alex de Angelis has crashed. Game over. Dani Peedrosa gets past Maverick Vinales, and is behind Pol Espargaro, making his 150th MotoGP start across all three classes.
Dani Pedrosa has a bad foot. A broken foot, and is in a lot of pain. So, he too, is riding hurt, just as Cal Crutchlow is, with a shoulder injury. Valentino Rossi loses time to Marc Marquez who is still behind Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez ran up on the curb, giving Lorenzo an advantage. Is this Indianapolis all over again? It is. Marquez resets fast lap. Valentino Rossi, is out in the cold, at least right now. Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez still battle on lap six. Lorenzo has the medium tires on both ends. Marquez has a medium front and a hard rare. Rossi, has hard tires on both ends of the bike.
Rossi runs a 1:56,494. He's sitll half a second behind. If Lorenzo wins and Rossi is third, they will be level on 211 points headed into the next race. Dani Pedrosa is closing on Bradley Smith. Pedrosa has won two MotoGP races, and has also won in the old 125cc and 250cc divisions. He moves past Bradley Smith into sixth spot. Rossi is breaking away from the two factory Ducati's. Andrea Ianonne has been the best Ducati rider in the last five races. Andrea Dovizioso needs to step it up. Fifteen laps left now. We are on lap seven, four laps from halfway.
Cal Crutchlow is still in it, on the LCR Honda. Aleix Espargaro and Danilo Petrucci battle for eleventh spot. It's Ducati vs. Suzuki. Andrea Ianonne has moved to fourth. He passes Dani Pedrosa and Bradley Smith. Marquez and Lorenzo are a half a second apart. Lorenzo is stretching his advantage consistently. 1:56.4 for Lorenzo. 1:56.7 for Marquez. Dani Pedrosa is booking it. He's 9/10ths quicker than Andrea Dovizioso and also quicker than Ianonne.
Lorenzo is flying. Marquez might not be able to catch him. The gap is up to 9/10ths of a second. Lorenzo continues to lead as Marquez flicks the bike through turn 14. Rossi is 5.6 seconds behind Marquez. Lorenzo is breaking away from everyone. We work lap nine. Thirteen laps to go. Two laps from halfway, already. The gap is up to 1.2. seconds. Eugene Laverty had a horrendous high side. He's fine. He's made it back to the pits. He almost took Jack Miller with him. Rossi rues the bad start he had.
Andrea Ianonne is still the best Ducati. Dani Pedrosa is gaining time on Andrea Dovizioso. He is using a thumb operated clutch. Jorge Lorenzo is in the lead, fully concentrated on keeping the lead. There's a slight drop off in the tires according to Bridgestone. But, they should be fine. Andrea Ianonne drops into the high 1:56 lap time range. Bradley Smith runs seventh, as the top non-factory rider. Stefan Bradl is running well on the Aprilia. Right now, Jorge Lorenzo, though, is unbeatable. Medium tires on both ends of Lorenzo's bike.
Nine laps left. Lorenzo won't lose this race, unless the grip with the tires falls off a cliff. Lorenzo was the last non-Honda rider to win at Brno, five years ago, in 2010. Eight laps remain in this race now. No change in the top ten. Lorenzo leads Marquez by 2.5 seconds. Rossi is six seconds behind. These guys will be tied in the championship. We go to the checkers. Brno will remain on the championship calendar for the next five years. Stefan Bradl is fifteenth. Hector Barbera, Nicky Hayden, Scott Redding, Yonny Hernandez, and others, are fighting for places down the order.
Cal Crutchlow is out now. He's wrecked. Two riders that are waiting in the wings to get into MotoGP are Danny Kent from Moto 3 and Johann Zarco from Moto 2. No one can touch Lorenzo. People used to say about the great Mike "The Bike" Hailwood, you could put a coin in very corner, and he'd ride over it. Lorenzo, is doing the same thing, today, at Brno. Game over for Maverick Vinales. It's his first non finish of 2015. Meanwhile, Lorenzo reels off another great lap. There are still five or so laps left.
Dani Pedrosa will have to battle the Ducati's. That will be the race. Hector Barbera is 15th, and Barbera is under pressure from Nicky Hayden and Loris Baz in the Open class. Baz missed the race at Indianapolis last weekend. Hayden has had a podium in MotoGP, while Baz, had a podium in FIM World Superbike, here, too. Concentration time for the top three. Pedrosa is trying. But, he's riding on sheer guts. Adrenaline and painkillers have not helped the pain in his foot. Pol Espargaro runs his best lap of the race at 1:57.454.
Andrea Ianonne has gapped Andrea Dovizioso. They run through Kevin Schwantz corner. Dani Pedrosa closes on the Ducati's. He can't get by. But he's lining up a last lap pass. Pedrosa won this race, last year. Nicky Hayden passes Hector Barbera for Open class honors. Pedrosa is closing on Dovizioso. But, that Ducati GP15, is a hot bike. It's fast! Pedrosa tries on the Honda RC213V. Karel Abraham is 21st. He's thee crowd favorite. But, he's returned from injury, racing for the first time since Barcelona, Spain, back in May. Jorge Lorenzo is likely to win his fourth world championship title, if he is consistent for the rest of this season.
Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi have been soundly beaten here in the Czech Republic already today. Dani Pedrosa is still trying. Just two laps to go. Pedrosa has one chance to make a pass. Meanwhile. Lorenzo is going to win this race more than likely. Dani Pedrosa may have one more chance. Andrea Dovizioso is trying to hang onto fifth spot. Andrea Ianonne has a fourth place, signed, sealed, and delivered. Pedrosa can't get close enough in the braking zone. He's blocked by Dovizioso, and can't quite get there. He's not giving up, with a lap and a half to go.
Loris Baz is now leading the Open class in 15th ahead of Nicky Hayden. Pedrosa runs wide. Dovizioso will hold fifth. Meanwhile, Jorge Lorenzo has one lap left, to win his fifth race of 2015, but also, to take the lead of the MotoGP World Championship, from team mate, Valentino Rossi. Pedrosa wants to move past Dovizioso. Meanwhile, half a lap to go for Jorge Lorenzo. He's going to win the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic. Pedrosa is inside Dovizioso. Pedrosa has the inside line. Can Dovizioso pass?
JHorge Lorenzo will win. Dovizioso and Pedrosa are side by side. Jorge Lorenzo gets his fifth win of the year, and gets the points lead! Marc Marquez has been beaten. Valentino Rossi is third. Winning the battle for fifth, it's Pedrosa. Lorenzo leads the world championship, equal on points with Rossi. But, he's won more races. What a race this was! Loris Baz is the top Open class rider.

He is now level on points with Valentino Rossi, his Yamaha team mate. It's his 58th race win. Because of a greater number of race wins, he is the new leader in the championship. Rossi has held the lead in the championship since the start of the season, until now. Tire choice was not a factor today at all. The next race on the calendar, is in Great Britain. It is at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, England, in two weeks, right at the end of this month.

MotoAmerica Round 8: Indianapolis
MotoAmerica was in action last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway along with all three classes from MotoGP. Here are the race highlights from Indy, as it was the first ever Superbike race at "The Brickyard". Cameron Beaubier won race one. But, in race two, as rain was coming, the race was red flagged. By 0.015 seconds, Beaubier does the double, getting 18 points. Jack Gagne won in Superstock 1000 competition.

MotoGP Round 10: U.S.A. (Indianapolis)
Can Marc Marquez make it nine for nine, winning in the United States? Is Valentino Rossi the man to beat? It's going to be interesting to see. Which is better? Youth and enthusiasm, or age and experience? Riders start young and are really fast. Being younger, you can push more, and be braver. Marc Marquez was fast when he came into MotoGP and knew all the tracks, as well. He has something special, according to nine-time champion, Valentino Rossi.
Marquez wants to ride for as long as he can. Jorge Lorenzo says it's important to be humble, but be better, and don't give up. We are getting closer to going racing for MotoGP at Indianapolis, after seeing two, great preliminary races with Moto 3 and Moto 2. Marc Marquez had a wreck in the warmup. The weather will stay stable, it looks like. 27 laps is the race distance. The track has sixteen corners, running counterclockwise... the same direction, as the Indycars, and the NASCAR stock cars. Moto 3: Indianapolis
The summer vacation, is over. We are ready to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We have the championship in MotoGP to look forward to, a bit later on. However, the first race we will be looking at in the Indianapolis Grand Prix, will be Moto 3.
In the MotoGP morning warmup, there was a wreck. More about that later. In Moto 3, we thought there would be a wide open championship, and it has been surprising. Moto 3, is up, next!
Rain has started to fall. But, it should not be too big of a problem. As the bikes make their way to the grid, there were some dry spots, but the rain is here. Some bikes are changing tires. We've got rain, and within a few hours, it will have moved through, once we get to MotoGP later on. Here we go for Moto 3. Go!
Danny Kent and Miguel Oliveira battle for the lead, and it's Oliveria ahead. Oh! We have a bike stalled. Remy Gardner could have been it. No. It's John McPhee. Brad Binder is going for it and Efren Vazquez is also going for it. So far, so good. To second place, goes Danny Kent. The sequence of corners up to the front straight, make good passing spots. Oliveira has problems and is coming to pit lane. Maybe he made a bad tire choice.
Deeper in the field, we watch and also, some spreading out. We see Francesco Bagnaia in the lane, too, going to slick tires. Niccolo Antonelli is going for it, too, as we see Efren Vazquez, on a charge, ahead of Lorenzo Dalla Porta. Changing tires is taking too much time. Riders will need to be patient. Kent and Binder are in, too. The lap times are eleven seconds slower on rain tires. 1:40 in dry conditions in qualifying. 1:51 with wet tires.
In Moto 3, you have one bike. So, you have to be able to change tires. Alexis Masbou currently leads this race. 21 laps to go. You have to make up time. Will the Dunlop rain tires hold up? Alexis Masbou has Livio Loi for company in second spot. Romano Fenati pits, too, flailing his arms in confusion. It's stressful for the riders and mechanics alike. We watch Livio Loi,lead this race, as Alexis Masbou drops to second place.
Is Livio Loi on slick tires? Then, he'll have to pit. Romano Fenati is going to be released, back into this race. Livio Loi wants to win his first race. He has never been on the podium. Could he win? John McPhee and Phillip Oettl are second and third. Amazing. Oettl had a crash yesterday in qualifying. Loi started this race on slick tires. Enea Bastianinni is third in line, but ninth overall. Andrea Locatelli is also there. Don't get in trouble.
Danny Kent is still in this race, but way down in 25th spot. Could we have a first time Moto 3 winner? The weather is humid. We'll see some rain, maybe. Rain tires are the safe bet. Slicks on a wet track is dangerous, because, you can crash. John McPhee runs second, still, behind Loi. Philipp Oettl is a shade faster than McPhee. This race is for the podium. Danny Kent is chased by Hiroki Ono of Japan. Ooh! Francesco Bagnaia loses it and goes down. Run over, pick up the bike, and go, buddy, go.
Livio Loi continues building up his lead. None of the riders have been on the podium, who lead. Karel Hanika is trying to unlap himself. Nine laps left now. There's debris on the track, but it's not in the racing line. Alessandro Tonucci runs behind Livio Loi, trying to unlap himself. Rain is here again, as the white flag, with the red cross on it, is displayed. Eight laps left now. Romano Fenati is still running. Fenati is not having the race he hoped for. Oh no! Game over for Efren Vazquez! He low sides the bike, pushing the front end.
Remy Gardner is 15th in points paying territory. Remy is the son of 1987 500cc World Champion, Wayne Gardner, of course. We are nearing the finish of the Moto 3 race. Colin Edwards saluted his fans, with a lap around the speedway earlier. Livio Loi continues to lead this race, on slick tires. Rain showers are here, still. Will Livio Loi win this thing? He turned his personal best lap time in the rain, on slick tires. Jules Danilo is going a lap down. Run your own pace, if you have a big lead.
John McPhee is 28 seconds behind Livio Loi.
Philipp Oettl is further behind Livio Loi. Use your head. Think. Get a podium. These riders need to get on the bikes and start learning the circuits. The quicker you get on a Moto 3 bike, the better, because you have to learn the tracks, before you go to Moto 2 and MotoGP. A battle emergs from ffith through ninth that begins with Jorge Navarro, along with Enea Bastianinni, Niccolo Antonelli, and Karel Hanika. Bastianinni tries, but gets pushed outside and loses four places.
Isaac Vinales is running well, and moving up. Correction, it was Brad Binder racing Enea Bastianinni. The leader slows down a little bit. Bastianinni slides by. The raindrops are becoming heavier. Bastianinni picks up another place. Livio Loi has to hang on for one more lap, and he'll win at Indinapolis Motor Speedway. He runs a 1:29.6. Six seconds slower than his fastest lap. John McPhee is 34 and a half seconds behind Loi. He'll be on the podium, thoughh. Oettl will also see a podium.
Loi is going to win at Indianapolis, with only four finishes whatsoever, this season. Loi wins Indianapolis!

#11 Livio Loi BEL. Honda
Moto 2 racing is up next.

Guy Martin wreck
An 11-time winner of the Ulster Grand Prix at the famous Dundrod circuit in Scotland, Guy Martin was injured in a monstrous wreck for that race, but may still compete, despite his injuries. The bike landing on one side (on the pavement). Guy, landing on the other side, (on the grass). Ouch!
